Diving and Cuba, at a comfortable pace.
A recreational dive trip designed for certified divers — from entry-level certifications such as Open Water Diver and Scuba Diver onward — combining Caribbean reef diving with local culture, iconic cities, and personal support throughout the journey.
Each of the three itineraries follows the southern coast of western Cuba, known for generally calm diving conditions throughout the year. You’ll stay in city hotels and at established dive centers on a full-board basis, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner included. Reef dives can last up to an hour, with visibility typically ranging from 45 to 120 feet.

Every itinerary includes private transportation with a professional driver and a dedicated excursion guide. ITINERARY 1
Havana – Playa Girón – Havana

8 Dives · Shore Diving
Full Board
Spend two days discovering Havana’s culture and city life, with four days of diving at the Playa Girón International Dive Center in between. Enjoy shore-entry reef and wall dives with multilevel dive profiles, then round out the journey with dinner and a show at the Tropicana or Parisien Cabaret.
- Reef and wall diving along the drop-off, with dives of up to 60 minutes.
- Guided tour of Havana’s historic center, including lunch at a specialty restaurant.
- Accommodation: Hotel Roc Presidente 4★ in Havana and Hotel Playa Girón 3★.
ITINERARY 2
Havana – María la Gorda – Havana

Full Board
Explore one of Cuba’s best-preserved coastal ecosystems with boat dives operated by the María la Gorda International Dive Center. Non-diving companions can join snorkeling outings during surface intervals, while first-time divers can try a guided introductory scuba experience.
- Multilevel wall diving by boat, with typically excellent visibility throughout the year.
- Snorkeling opportunities for non-diving companions during surface intervals.
- Optional introductory scuba experience for first-time divers, arranged and paid directly at the dive center.

Havana – Varadero – Playa Girón – Havana

Full Board
The most dynamic of the three itineraries, combining Havana’s culture, the beaches of Varadero, and Caribbean reef diving at Playa Girón. Expect changing scenery, different diving environments, and a journey designed for travelers who want to experience more of Cuba along the way.
- Diving with the Barracuda Dive Center in Varadero and the Playa Girón International Dive Center.
- Accommodation: Roc Presidente 4★ in Havana, Roc Arenas Doradas 4★ in Varadero, and Hotel Playa Girón 3★.
- Farewell dinner and cabaret show in Havana.

- Entry-level certifications are welcome, including Scuba Diver and Open Water Diver.
- Minimum age for diving: 12; advanced experience is not required.

This is recreational reef diving. No technical diving, cave or cenote diving, or dive-course training is included in these itineraries. The focus is on safe, enjoyable recreational diving and experiencing Cuba at a comfortable pace.
